Big Play Family Fun Center at 1836 Beach Blvd. in Biloxi wants to add a multi-purpose building to house 20 bowling lanes, 70-arcade games, pool tables, a bar and a two-story laser tag course.

Company owners took the proposal to Biloxi's Development Review Committee early Wednesday morning.

"This building will allow us to provide entertainment throughout the entire calendar year," said company spokesman Brandon Wooldridge. "Some of our products (bumper boats, inflatables) are seasonal."

Wooldridge said he wants his business to expand and be able to provide options for guests of all ages, and although the new expansion will be kid-friendly, it is designed with adults in mind.

"We've always kicked around the idea of what we wanted to do with the lot," he said. "Just like when we began, there is still a major need for entertainment options for adults."

The building will include a 30-to-40-seat sports bar that could host musical acts, he said.

If the plans pass future hearings, Wooldridge said he hopes to begin construction at the beginning of the year.
