British Petroleum officials are offering a four-hour training session beginning at 1 p.m. today for boat owners who wish to be hired to help shoreline protection.
The program, called Vessels of Opportunity, offers boat operators to opt to participate in the program to help in shoreline protection work.
To participate, boat owners should attend the four-hour BP Safety & Training Session at the Biloxi Community Center at 591 Howard Ave.
The contractors will need information such as the name of the boat owner, the boat's dimensions and other characteristics including length, draft, horsepower and information such as whether crewmembers are HAZWOPER trained (a 40-hour class.)
