Two men died while trying to save a child from drowning, Alabama sheriff says
Two men died Monday while trying to save a distressed child swimming near Fort Morgan, Alabama.
WKRG’s Katarina Luketich reports that Bradley Murphy, 22, of Elberta, Alabama, and Steve Wahler, 47, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died Monday while trying to save a child.
Baldwin County Sheriff Hoss Mack tells WKRG that four adults entered the water near the Kiva Dunes Resort to save a child. Two adults were able to rescue the child and make it out of the water.
The U.S. Coast Guard reports that one body was recovered Monday evening. Rescue workers are still searching for the second body.
