Biloxi was built on the Mississippi Sound’s robust seafood industry with a strong Catholic influence. The seafood industry is still thriving.

The saints are still marching down their namesake streets. Soldiers from all branches of the military are still being trained at Keesler Air Force Base.

Keesler is also home to the Hurricane Hunters, who fly into hurricanes to provide valuable, life‐saving information about tropical storms and hurricanes.

The Biloxi Shuckers, the Double A affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Milwaukee Brewers, play their home games at MGM Park at 875 Beach Blvd., which is across U.S. 90 from the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.

There are also beaches, casinos and a large indoor mall along with all the events on any given day that show why Biloxi has earned the nickname the Playground of the South.
