This week I am blogging about the cultural diversity of restaurants found on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Don’t misunderstand, I am not trying to sell South Mississippi as a small Manhattan, it is not, but there are a surprising number of restaurants serving food from around the world.
If it is rainy and cool, if I am feeling down and out, or if I feel a cold coming on, even in the midst of summer, I head to one of our Vietnamese restaurants and enjoy a bowl of pho, which is a clear beef stock at its base, loaded with tender rice noodles and thin slices of beef.
It is served with an abundance of garnishes that will include jalapeño peppers, bean sprouts, wedges of lemon and lots of herbs.
