The Coast is a diverse place culinarily.

Surely you know about the many Vietnamese places.

What about Indian? Check.

Stop by Orchid on Tegarden in Gulfport for a real treat.

How about Jamaican? Not a problem.

Drive along Pass Road to Hewes Avenue in Gulfport and try the great food at Coastline Caribbean Restaurant.

Korean? No problem.

Japanese? Check.

How about Honduran? Sure.

Restaurante Y Pupuseria Doña Blanca on Dedeaux Road in Gulfport is good.

I think I’ve made my point about the culinary diversity on the Coast.

One of my favorite places from that batch of diverse restaurants is Orchid at 162 Tegarden in Gulfport.

If you know nothing about Indian food, check out their seven-day-a-week Indian buffet.

You can pick and choose until you have found your new favorite.

It is spicy, but that doesn’t mean hot; it just means they use a lot of spices, such as cardamom, that you might not be used to. Pluck up your courage and give this place a try, it is spicy, bold and delicious.
