Perhaps the most common barbecue offering in the South is a pulled pork sandwich.
They are popular enough that you can find them (not recommended) in the frozen section of some grocery stores.
I do not recall ever stopping at a barbecue place and not being offered a pulled pork sandwich.

I’m blogging about barbecue this week, but not how to make it, we are more interested in variety, sauces, sides and garnishes.
A pulled pork sandwich is almost always doctored with barbecue sauce, but what else makes for a great sandwich?
I always prefer to err on the side of simplicity, so other than adding sauce, a few thin slices of onion, and a pickle or two, that’s it in my book.
