Bacchus serves up great pork chops for Monday lunch

Lunch is the focus of this week’s blog entries, and few localities have as many delicious mid-day options as the Gulf Coast does.

There are literally hundreds of lunch spots to try, so it’s hard to nail down just a handful.

I’ve been thinking about the Old Biloxi Schooner, the Reef in Biloxi, the Crawfish House in Ocean Springs, even Corks and Cleaver in Gulfport, but let’s pick a restaurant with two Coast locations.

There is no way I can write about lunch and not mention the pork chop special Bacchus has on Mondays. There are now three Bacchus locations -- one in Pass Christian, one in Biloxi and one in Oxford -- and all have the same killer chop special all day Monday.

It is a monster double-cut chop, grilled just the way you want it and served with two sides that change, but everyone loves the cornbread and greens.

This double-size special is only $10, and my guess is they must sell hundreds every Monday. There are lots of other good things on the Bacchus menu, but if you are in for a really big lunch on Monday, give this one serious consideration.
