Vestige in Ocean Springs one of the finest restaurants in the South, and Chef Alex Perry is one of the brightest and most talented young chefs in the South.

Vestige is a Modern American restaurant, where you won’t find the classical French sauces and dishes that you might expect, but you will find a menu that is seasonal, heavy on local ingredients.

The menu offerings are as innovative, and delicious, as that of any restaurant in the nation.

Last time I was there I had a watermelon gazpacho that brought tears to my eyes.

I hold chef Alex Perry and his wife, Kumi in the highest regard, and if you have not tried the food that comes from his kitchen, you are missing something special.

This week am blogging about some amazing chefs that have restaurants on the Coast. I can’t get to them all, so I had to narrow the selection down to five.
