When you think of Italian food, you might not think of too many rice dishes, but one does stand out.
In fact, it has Sicilian roots and is called “little oranges,” or arancini.
Once you make these delicious fried rice balls you’ll see where the name comes from, little oranges are what the look like.

The basics are a ball of rice, filled with a small morsel of roasted pork in a tomato sauce, or cheese, coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried.
Amazingly, arancini are almost as good cold as they are fresh out of the fryer, so if you make them, make extra. They make great snacks.
