Da Bayou serves up good food in a cool environment

Da Bayou in Ocean Springs (2411 Beachview Drive) is one of the newest eateries on the Coast and one of the most interesting as well.

The atmosphere alone is worth the drive, and it is lovely to sit on the dock and watch the bayou on a sunny day, drink a beer and enjoy the good food.

Even if you are in a hurry while out shopping on a busy weekend, if you find yourself in this part of Ocean Springs, it’s a great place for a quick lunch.

The menu is not huge, but it has some winners. Try the gumbo and potato salad or the amazing Who Dat burger that’s loaded with spicy shrimp.

I will be cooking at two upcoming events, so mark your calendar for Dec. 10 at the Green House on Porter, Ocean Springs, a percentage of the proceeds are going to the Jackson County Animal Shelter, and a Lunch and Learn at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center, Ocean Springs, Dec. 14. Check Facebook pages for details and reservations.
