Silver Slipper Hotel & Casino is sponsoring free trolley service along the beach in Hancock County starting Thursday.
"We are very excited to partner with Silver Slipper Casino to provide transit service to the Bay-Waveland beach area," said Kevin Coggin, Coast Transit Authority executive director. Those staying at the Silver Slipper will be able to hope aboard and go to town for lunch and shopping, and residents or visitors who are downtown can ride along the beach and try their luck at the casino.
CTA will run the trolley service on a continuous hourly loop from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
Trolleys will leave the Silver Slipper at the top of each hour and follow the coastline. They will stop at Buccaneer State Park, Coleman Avenue in Waveland, at the Bay Harbor, Old Town Bay St. Louis and the Depot District.
