Vancleave Library celebrates chocolate

Chocolate cookies, cakes and other treats will fill tables at the eighth annual Friends of the Vancleave Public Library Chocolate Tasting & Membership Drive from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 21 at the library at 12604 Mississippi 57.

Area restaurants, pastry chefs and community members will provide chocolate creations.

Admission is $5 per person or $10 per family, which covers annual membership to the Friends of the Library. Proceeds from last year's event funded refreshments for library programs, summer-reading prizes, shelving and furniture.

The library also will host a Coffeehouse and Poetry Mic Night from 4 to 6 p.m. April 27. People will be invited to recite their original poetry, suitable for all ages. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
