Southern Co. announces dividend for 273 consecutive quarters

Southern Co., parent company of Mississippi Power, announced Thursday a regular quarterly dividend of 54.25 cents per share on the company's common stock, payable March 7 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 16.

This marks 273 consecutive quarters -- dating to 1948 -- that Southern Co. will pay its shareholders a dividend.
