Rail Authority plans open meeting in Lucedale
The Rail Authority of East Mississippi will host the third of three public meetings in Lucedale on Tuesday to get input on the rail project and review two possible routes for the new rail.
The meeting will be 5-7 p.m. at Old Bexley School on Mississippi 98. It is a "come and go" function with tables set up with maps, plans, studies and information. Technical experts and engineers will be on hand to answer questions.
RAEM is a partnership of Lauderdale, Clarke, Wayne, Greene, George and Jackson counties to develop the East Mississippi Intermodal Rail Corridor and create continuous rail service between South Mississippi and Meridian.
