Gautier Rotary Club member's bike rides help Rotary efforts

Horace J. 'Ace' Necaise, right, of Ocean Springs, past district governor of Rotary International and member of the Gautier Rotary Club, has raised more than $3,000 for the Rotary Foundation and Rotary International's End Polio Now campaign. He rode in the Hot Hundred Century ride in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in July and the Southern Magnolia Classic in Woolmarket Century ride (100 miles) in October. He encouraged pledges for his efforts to go to Rotary Foundation projects that include water projects, education and health projects in poor countries and Rotary's polio campaign that has helped reduce polio cases from worldwide to just two countries. Those who donated received credit in their name with Rotary International. Necaise has been biking in the 100-mile Century rides for slightly more than one year. The Southern Magnolia was his third 100-mile ride. At left is his daugter, Katie L. Whitcomb.
