Harrison County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program was awarded the 2015 National Champion of Service Award in Orlando. The award was presented for the outstanding volunteer services in the community. Services include free handyman services offered to low-income seniors, making homes accessible, building wheelchair ramps, checking on the elderly, collecting and delivering furniture to foster children and providing Christmas for more than 400 abused and neglected children each year. RSVP volunteers serve at local hospitals, schools, sheriff and police departments, senior centers, community events and so much more.
