The University of Alabama is already loading up on the Class of 2016.
Wayne County defensive tackle Benito Jones announced this week plans to sign with the Crimson Tide in two years. He plans to graduate next December and enroll in January, 2016.
Jones was the first player to commit in Alabama's Class of 2016. The Crimson Tide have won five national recruiting titles under coach Nick Saban.
"Coach Saban and I talked. He talked about me being a leader on-and-off the field," Jones told Tidesports.com. "He told me to stay in my books. I told him I wanted to commit. He told me he was excited and fired up. I am the first commit in the 2016 class.
"I was there for the A-Day game. I didn't get to see everything with the school. I went up there yesterday for the camp. I saw the school and saw the facilities. I knew it was the place I wanted to be. I had a feeling I was going to commit."
Jones is only 6-foot, 280-pounds, but will likely grow by the time he signs with Alabama.
