Blueberries a'comin!

My blueberry bushes are chock-full of berries that are starting to show a hint of color.

That means the season will be upon us in just a few weeks and I'll soon have fresh, sweet blueberries on hand.

My husband has an easy recipe for blueberry cobbler that uses a cake mix for the topping, so I found a similar one on that you can use. Many cobbler recipes call for canned blueberry filling, but this one, and my husband's call for fresh blueberries.

If you don't have blueberry bushes at home, several places offer U-Pick-Em rates and, of course, the local grocers also carry them.

Blueberry Cobbler


1 box yellow cake mix1 c. chopped pecans1 can pineapple, crushed1 can blueberries1 1/2 sticks butter

Start with blueberries on bottom of 13 x 9 inch pan. Then cover with pineapple; next top with 1/2 box of cake mix. Cover with pecans, rest of cake mix, and top with pats of butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
