My family was enjoying breakfast at Harbor View Cafe on Sunday (where the omlettes are good, but so are the pancakes, French toast and other goodies on the menu!).
When my husband went to the counter to pay the bill, he came back with a cookbook called "Horsing Around In the Kitchen" with recipes from Coast cooks assembled to benefit Gaits to Success, a therapeutic horse riding therapy program.
The recipes include some favorites from the old Friendship House, the Harbor View and a few familiar names from the Coast like Peggy Ryland.
Harbor View keeps the books on hand and sells them as long as they're in stock.
The $10 is worth the price for these recipes and helps a wonderful cause in the process.
Dana Hirsh and Thomas Barrett's Harbor View is open Tuesday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for dinner.
Y'all stop by for some good eats and pick up a great cookbook along the way.
