The 1 a.m. public advisory is out from the National Hurricane Center and the storm continues on it's path to the northwest. It's about 170 miles south-southeast of New Orleans.
The storm's maximum sustained winds are near 115 mph, making it a Category 3 storm. Some strengthening remains possible before a landfall around noon today.
