More than 100,000 turned out on Fat Tuesday for revelry and merrymaking at three of South Mississippi’s largest Carnival parades. For the most part, the weather cooperated, but there were patches of fog during the Bay St. Louis Krewe of Diamonds parade. During Biloxi’s Gulf Coast Carnival Association parade, there was a slight mist. And the mist was heavy during Gulfport’s Gemini Night Parade.
A few arrests were made throughout the day, but officials say arrests were down from last year, and no serious paraderelated incidents were reported.
Paradegoers for the most part enjoyed an almost perfect day of fun, even if the weather was less than perfect.
