MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Dalton Kelly hit a run-scoring single in the first inning, leading the Montgomery Biscuits to a 3-1 win over the Mississippi Braves on Tuesday.
The single by Kelly, part of a two-run inning, gave the Biscuits a 1-0 lead before Lucius Fox hit a sacrifice fly later in the inning.
After Montgomery added a run in the fourth when Rene Pinto scored on a groundout, the Braves cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Tyler Neslony hit an RBI double, driving in Drew Waters.
Sam McWilliams (2-1) got the win in relief while Mississippi starter Ian Anderson (2-3) took the loss in the Southern League game.
Neslony doubled and singled twice for the Braves.
With the win, Montgomery improved to 7-2 against Mississippi this season.
