More than 1,000 Diamondhead customers without power on a very cold South Mississippi morning

Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Don Bass said an early morning crash in Diamondhead has left more than 1,000 Coast Electric customers without power.

Bass said the top of an 18-wheeler snagged a power line at 57152 Diamondhead East and pulled a power pole down. No injuries were reported.

According to the website for Coast Electric, about 1,3000 customers are temporarily without power.

Bass said Coast Electric trucks and crews were on the scene repairing the power pole.
