Jourdan Nicaud is opening Bacchus on the Bluff at 8813 Lorraine Road, an area that has become more popular in recent years as a slew of development brings new housing, dining and shopping to the Cowan-Lorraine Road corridor.
The restaurant will replace Flamingo Landing, which closed in August 2025 after two years in business. It was the first Mississippi venture for Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts, a group that owns more than a few well-known spots in New Orleans including Cafe Mesparo, Boulevard American Bistro, Flamingo A-Go-Go and The Bombay Club.
Nicaud, who has ties to New Orleans and owns several restaurants on the Mississippi Coast, with his brother, Field Nicaud, said the goal is to open Bacchus on the Bluff in March. It is situated along Bayou Bernard and will have the same menu as Bacchus on the Beach in Pass Christian and Bacchus on the Bayou in Ocean Springs.
The Bacchus restaurants are known for casual coastal fare, the Monday night pork chop special, a variety of oysters and more on the seafood-forward menu. Nicaud said there will also be a downstairs bar and a boat launch for water access.
The new Lorraine Road location is situated between U.S. Highway 90 and Interstate 10 and is about a 90 minute drive from New Orleans.
