Popular cake shop opening first South Mississippi location. Here are the details
A bakery that gets overwhelming 5-star ratings for its moist and flavorful cakes and creamy icing is opening soon in South Mississippi.
The sign is up at the Nothing Bundt Cakes at 15206 Crossroads Pkwy., in the same line of stores with Belk, Barnes and Noble and Office Depot at the Crossroads shopping center in Gulfport.
The Gulfport franchise is expected to open within the month.
While this is the first franchise in South Mississippi, five other Nothing Bundt Cakes are open in the state.
What started 27 years ago when two mothers baked their first cakes in their Las Vegas homes now is the No. 1 specialty cake company in the country with more than 600 locations nationwide.
The bake shops provide a variety of sizes and flavors, with theme cakes featured for holidays and celebrations throughout the year.
Customers can choose from a large cake to feed a family or several friends, an individual bundt cake or a pack of minis by the dozen.
The menu of favorite cakes lists vanilla and lemon for those who love classic flavors, Oreo cookies and cream or chocolate chocolate chip for chocolate lovers, plus red velvet and carrot cakes topped with their signature cream cheese frosting.
They also have flavors of gluten free cakes.
Strawberry cheesecake swirl with creamy cheesecake filling and drizzled with strawberry glaze is the current pop-up flavor at the stores and lemon raspberry is the summer seasonal flavor to try.
Bundt cakes are considered by many to be a party cake and Nothing Bundt Cakes has more than 60 varieties of handcrafted cakes for celebrations. Love cakes and custom cakes for weddings, Halloween, football parties and other occasions are a specialty.
The company has an app with a rewards program that treats members to a free bundtlet for their birthday, along with member happy hours and appreciation days.
