The weather is warming up. Here are my favorite Coast restaurants with an outdoor view
It is that wonderful time of year when you turn the heater on in your car in the morning only to turn the A/C on when you get back in it in the afternoon.
Personally, I’m fond of the season where the water bottle you left in the cup holder in the middle of August is finally cold enough to drink again in December. But to each his own.
Going up with the temperatures are the windows and screens of restaurants with views of the Mississippi Coast’s vibrant and beautiful scenery.
There are many great restaurants with picture-perfect sightlines, and I’ve reviewed several myself. Here’s a list of some of my favorites.
River Peach Bar and Grill
It’s not all about the Mississippi Sound on the Coast, but the winding rivers flowing into it through the various bays offer their own unique vibe hidden away from travelers.
River Peach puts you right on top of the waters of the Biloxi River and offers a home-style selection of fried seafoods and local favorites. The apps are a specialty with spicy and sour fried pickles and crab cake egg rolls. The River Peach burger is classic American style and the Swamp Dog piles sauteed onions and swamp sauce on an alligator sausage dog.
Regularly scheduled crawfish boils have fired up on Sundays and are often accompanied by live music.

Keesler Federal Park
Last year’s renovations have made it possible to hit the beach and watch a live baseball game at the same time. The Biloxi Shuckers’ newest seating options come at no extra cost. All you need is a standing room ticket, at minimum.
Just a few steps away from the sandy right field berm is a tiki bar, outfitted with TVs and various libations. Grab a hot dog, crawfish queso or wings before settling in your beach chair behind right fielder Bladimir Restituyo.
The Shuckers are hosting the Columbus Clingstones — formerly the Mississippi Braves — through Sunday and will be at home for at least two weeks out of every month through August and a week into September.
Address: 105 Caillavet St, Biloxi
Blow Fly Bar and Grill
The Blow Fly has been a prominent establishment tucked off of Cowan-Lorraine for some time and underwent a renovation with new owners before reopening in 2023.
The restaurant offers a raised view of Bayou Bernard with big windows and patio seating above a pier. The menu is surf ‘n’ turf with hamburgers, steaks and seafood.
The Bayou “Cootery” Board is a favorite, featuring boudin balls, fried pickles, brisket sausage, onion rings, chicken salad and fire seasoned crackers with Cajun crawfish cheese dip.
Address: 1201 Washington Ave, Gulfport
Eat Drink Love Catering
Eat Drink Love caters your corporate gathering and serves you lunch over the waters of Old Fort Bayou. On Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. you can stop in for a delightful and healthy meal while taking in a truly serene setting.
I recommend the shrimp scampi dip as a small bite, but the sandwich menu features many gems like the power burger with chipotle aioli and roasted red peppers or the BBB burger with brie blueberry pepper jelly and bacon.
Eat Drink Love also offers daily specials and is outfitted with the 701 Craft bar.
Address: 701 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs
