MS Coast restaurant fails inspection for 4th time since 2020 for bugs, rodents or animals
A restaurant in Waveland was again cited by Mississippi Health Department for having bugs, rodents or animals present.
Sushilicious & Thai at 315 U.S. 90, Waveland was given its sixth C since 2020.
The health department doesn’t specify in its report whether it was bugs, rodents or animals found during the inspection, but it was the fourth time since 2020 the inspector cited the restaurant for that violation. Reports show the same violation in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Also during the scheduled inspection on April 2 the restaurant was cited for:
▪ Food contact surface not cleaned and sanitized
▪ Risk control plan not provided as required. Restaurant owners must develop a plan that is approved by the health department to show how it will control food hazards that could lead to illnesses.
Corrected during the inspection was:
▪ Adequate hand washing facilities supplied and accessible
Hwy to India, 1408 Bienville Blvd., Ocean Springs, had a scheduled inspection March 19. It was cited for:
▪ No certified manager
▪ Food contact surface not cleaned and sanitized, a repeat violation
Corrected during the inspection was:
▪ Adequate hand washing facilities supplied and accessible
The restaurant scored a B when a follow-up inspection on March 28 showed the violations were corrected.
The previous score was an A when the restaurant opened in April 2024.
Dem Dam Burgers, 209 Main St., Biloxi, was inspected April 2 for a permit.
It was cited for:
▪ Inadequate hand washing facilities supplied and accessible, a repeat violation.
This was the first C dating back to 2018.
Restaurants and kitchens in Mississippi are rated “A” if they pass the health department inspection, “B” if all violations are corrected during the inspection and “C” if the violations are critical.
Most restaurants in South Mississippi pass without any violations. Since March 19, the health department gave 158 As to restaurants in South Mississippi that scored an A and 15 a B.
