March Madness is here. These are some of the best places on the Coast to catch the action
March is upon us, and with it comes the madness of tournament basketball.
The Southeastern Conference tournament began on Wednesday and the Big Dance follows next week. For many, it’s the best time of the year. Mississippi State and Ole Miss fans on the Coast will be flocking to bars and restaurants and casinos to catch the do-or-die action.
LSU and Southern Miss fans are just happy it’s baseball season.
But for those going out for the biggest basketball games of the year, the Coast is full of restaurants that serve as perfect game-day spots.

The G.O.A.T. Sports Pub and Pizzeria
Plenty of TVs, pizza and wings. All the boxes are checked at The G.O.A.T., a sports bar and pizza joint that has built a solid reputation over the last couple of years on Pass Road.
And if you time up your trip to Wednesday between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., you’ll be treated to 75-cent wing night during the First Four.
There’s a full service bar and the pizzas are brick-oven made. The pizzeria has garnered a 4.5-star rating with over 100 reviews on Google, making it one of the top sports bars on the Coast.

Woody’s Roadside
You’ve always got a TV in your line of sight at Woody’s, even if you’re not at the bar. Woody’s has three locations on the Coast, between Gulfport, Biloxi and Ocean Springs, and is one of the more popular places in the area to catch a game.
The diverse and colorful menu is a big plus. Woody’s offers specialty tacos like Korean pork and chili shrimp, a host of party size apps that include wings and nachos and a wide range of entrees from ribeye steak to the Mahi fish sandwich.
The build-your-own-burger menu is a game-day go-to and the $6 margarita menu is an every day go-to (can confirm).

Flatheads and Bottomfeeders
Woolmarket’s highly popular surf-and-turf-style restaurant is business in the front and party in the back. The front of the building is traditional restaurant, but the back is a bar with TVs, a live music stage and good vibes all around.
Whether you’re at the bar or the tables, Flatheads offers direct sightlines to the biggest games coupled with the great service the young restaurant is known for.
Game day apps include wings and choot ‘em bites (fried alligator) along with po’boys, steaks and seafood.

The Project Lounge
The worst kept secret in Biloxi is a hidden gem dive bar tucked under Keesler Air Force Base. The bar has a remarkable 4.6 rating with over 1,000 reviews on Google.
It’s home to what many on the Coast claim is the best burger around. The cash-only venue is kept dark, allowing for easy viewing of the bar’s TVs.
