Donuts, ice cream & ‘the claw’ on the way to South MS, with Asian street food to follow
New tastes and experiences are on the way to South Mississippi.
In the same shopping center as his Quickly Asian Fusion Cafe, where Lamey Bridge Road meets Sangani Boulevard and Mallet Road, Emmanuel Albert is opening three new businesses.
Targeted to open later in March are Emmay Mochi Donuts, Desserts and More and the connecting Hero Claw Kingdom — the first known claw arcade on the Coast.
Chamay Asian Street Food is an Asian fusion restaurant that will open later this year adjacent to these two new family spots.
For those who aren’t familiar, mochi donuts are a trendy Korean snack that are are a cross between traditional donuts and healthier mochi rice dough that makes the dessert fluffy and moist.
The donut shop also will have ice cream and racks of snacks, making it an after the game stop or a place where the adults can sit and enjoy an ice cream or corn dog while the kids play the claw.
The claw room is full of those machines where kids try to grab a prize. To make it more fun are neon lights and music.
The finishing touches are being made to get the ice cream and donut shop open around the end of the month.
“This has probably been going on for about two years now,” Emmanuel said of his latest ventures. He’s also operating Quickly 2 in Ocean Springs, and Quickly, 93 Chicken and Tasty Pot restaurants in D’Iberville.
