New South MS ice cream parlor offers a choice of sweet, savory, and even spicy treats
The hot pink and vivid green of the decor at the Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor extends into the cases filled with brilliant colors of fresh fruit toppings, ice cream and popsicles.
This new, Mexican-inspired ice cream shop just opened at J&J shopping center at 10470 D’Iberville Blvd. in D’Iberville, across from the new ALDI store.
The California-based company makes and distributes the sweet treats with fresh cream, a variety of fruits and ingredients like walnuts, pecans and chocolate. Another franchise is on Pass Road in Biloxi.
Owner Abdul Karim decorated the ice cream shop in D’Iberville with very colorful booths and high tables.
The cases are filled with dozen of flavors of ice cream like Oreo, pistachio, tequila and cappuccino. Get them in a cup, waffle cone, waffle bowl, in a mini pancake or in a crepe.
They have smoothies, shakes, Monster drinks topped with Fruity Pebbles and ice cream floats.
The menu also has non-dairy and savory sweets.
Ice pops come in unexpected pineapple and chili, kiwi, guava and many other choices.
Fresh waters are made every day in refreshing combinations like cucumber and lemon, or lemonade and chia, along with mixed fruits.
Mangonadas are a sweet, spicy and tart dessert or drink in flavors like mango, guava and strawberry.
For a salty, cheese indulgence, customers can order nachos or hot Cheetos and cheese.
It’s the kind of place where families and friends can come after a baseball game, for a birthday or other celebration.
