For Valentine’s Day, here are 3 of my favorite date-night restaurants on the MS Coast
Valentine’s Day arrives on Friday, and what better place to spend it than the food-rich world of South Mississippi.
The Coast is home to many fine-dining restaurants that specialize in atmosphere and ambiance, and offer the perfect place to enjoy a romantic meal.
Here are a few of my favorite restaurants to visit this weekend.
Coraline’s
The Beau Rivage’s newest restaurant is the casino’s first seafood restaurant, and the only one with a waterfront view. The ivy green-accented restaurant offers a French Quarter aesthetic and an award-winning menu perfect for a date night on Casino Row.
Coraline’s features Gulf Coast favorites like oysters and gumbo and steamed seafood. Signature dishes include snapper served with blackened shrimp, chicken thighs stuffed with andouille and yellowfish tuna with blue crab.
Reservations are strongly encouraged.
Address: 875 Beach Boulevard, Biloxi
Hours: Sunday-Monday: 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday: 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday: 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The Rack House Steaks and Spirits
For a moody experience and scratch-made food, The Rack House is unbeatable as a date night steakhouse. Dim wooden booths and bourbon barrels set a unique-to-itself spirits warehouse scene in Downtown Gulfport that provide for a perfect Valentine’s Day dinner.
The star of the menu is the selection of steaks that are topped with house-made olive oil and topped with a roasted head of garlic. But there’s something for every taste here. Lamb, chicken, pasta and plenty of seafood provide for plenty of range.
Reservations are encouraged.
Address: 1301 26th Avenue, Gulfport
Hours: Monday-Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Evergreen
Government Street’s cozy home of fine Southern food is a prime location for a getaway dinner with a specialty menu. From the 13th to the 15th, patrons can enjoy selections such as chef’s choice Wagyu, house made chicken fettucini aldredo or yaka mein — a shrimp spaghetti in ramen-style broth. You can cap the evening with a snickers cannoli or chocolate creme brulee.
Evergreen is also offering specialty cocktails, including the red velvet espresso martnini. Reservations are required and the experience is $75 per person.
Address: 1019 Government St, Ocean Springs
Hours (13th-15th): 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
