Popular New Orleans restaurant will open in Bay St. Louis. ‘It brings something different’
The restaurant scene in downtown Bay Saint Louis is getting another New Orleans favorite: Tacos & Beer.
Following the lead of other Crescent City brands like Creole Creamery and Barracuda, this casual Mexican eatery will be opening very soon, Bay Saint Louis mayor Mike Favre said Wednedsay.
“I think it’s awesome,” Favre said. “It brings something different to the city and the more we get in our downtown area, the more people it attracts.”
Tacos & Beer is known best for their street-style food and affordable happy hour deals. Their menu will stay the same, and so will their $1 Taco Tuesday special, owner Gilbert Valencia said.
Valencia said he had wanted to open a location in Bay Saint Louis for several years and the opportunity finally presented itself.
The Tacos & Beer location on Court Street in Bay St. Louis is slated to open by February 1, Valencia said.
Bay Saint Louis is in a period of growth and has recently witnessed the rise of several new restaurants in their downtown area. Spots like Beachside Bistro and Lemoine’s Landing have also popped up within the last year.
Tacos & Beer replaces Bodega, a casual sandwich shop and bar that opened in 2018.
