Popular Asian restaurant reopens in South Mississippi with 100-plus choices on the menu
A favorite Asian restaurant that shut down following a fire a year ago is back open with a new menu and in a new spot in Biloxi.
Hana Pho is at 538 Division St. at Keller Avenue, near the Salvation Army Kroc Center.
The previous location on Pass Road at Eisenhower Drive in west Biloxi featured sushi. While this new restaurant doesn’t have sushi, it does have 109 food choices on the menu plus a big list of beverages and beer.
Customers already have their favorites, said co-owner Nicholas Perez.
“We have a very good salad,” he said, and the four varieties can be ordered in small and large sizes. Number 16 is topped with a beef, seasoned with basil, cilantro and onion and topped with a spicy vinaigrette dressing. Number 17 is a lotus root salad with sliced pork, shrimp, basil, cilantro and onion.
Sauteed spare ribs — number 59 on the menu — is another favorite.
Hana Pho primarily is a Vietnamese restaurant but a variety of cuisines fills the menu.
For less adventurous eaters, fried chicken wings, crab cakes, egg rolls and french fries are more recognizable dishes.
Their combination of pho and burrito is a fusion of Vietnamese and Spanish flavors, seasoned with cilantro and spiced with jalapeno, Perez said.
Hibachi dishes, like a scallops and steak or shrimp combination, are served with fried rice, stir fried vegetables and egg drop soup. They have 10 varieties of pho, a long list of noodle dishes and house specials.
Customers looking for something different will find it here. There is roasted baby quail or sauteed squid on the menu, along with stir-fried beef and bean sprouts in lemongrass sauce, Vietnamese marinated Cornish hen and several tofu dishes.
The restaurant opens daily at 9 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m.
