OpenTable reviews show more than half of the state’s top 10 restaurants are in South MS

Many of the best fine dining restaurants in Mississippi are on the Gulf Coast, according to the latest reviews on OpenTable.

The online reservation booking service for fine dining restaurants uses diner reviews over the past four months to compile lists showing the overall best restaurants, those with the best food, the best service and most booked.

Sitting at the top of the list of overall best restaurants in Mississippi in October is Vestige in Ocean Springs, which earned five star reviews. The James Beard finalist for best restaurant in the U.S. in 2024 impressed reviewers, who said it offers a “phenomenal” dining experience, blending “creative” dishes with “exceptional” service. The restaurant provides “artfully plated” courses and promises a culinary adventure worth every penny, the reviews said.
