Dieting and healthy living is tasty at new juice, fruit & salad place in D’Iberville
Ashley Mosley worked at another restaurant to gain more experience before she recently opened her first place — Ashley’s Juice & Salad Bar in D’Iberville.
“Clean living” is what inspired her to open at 11516 Lamey Bridge Road, just off Sangani Boulevard and share her 100% natural juices, beet salads and fruit smoothies.
“I have been juicing and doing salads out of my house for about three years,” she said.
The walls of her restaurant are vibrant, just like the fruit and vegetables she uses.
Customers can get their food and drinks to go, or dine at one of the tables or at the bar.
This isn’t a salad bar where people help themselves to toppings — it’s a bar where customers can pull up a seat and check their email or read a book while they sip a super berry smoothie or dip into one of the acai bowls with their choice of four toppings.
For those on a special diet, the acai bowls are dairy free and gluten free and vegetarian. They also can be sugar-free or sweetened naturally with fruit, honey, sugar cane sugar or vegan chocolate chips.
Cold pressed juices come in flavors like Carrot Top,which is a blend of carrots, lemon and apples, or Hello Sunshine with pineapple, orange and ginger.
For lunch or dinner are heart-healthy salads like grilled chicken or tuna, or kiwi delight, with both fruits and vegetables
Instead of grabbing a fancy coffee, fast food or candy for an afternoon snack, Ashley’s features a Nutella lover’s smoothie made with bananas, peanut butter and almond milk, or almond butter toast on whole grain bread with sliced bananas.
Ashley’s is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 10-3.
