Restaurant News & Reviews

After 5 years, it’s the end of the line for a popular MS Coast restaurant. What’s next?

After five years at a busy location on U.S. 90 in Ocean Springs, Ichiban Sushi restaurant closed at the end of the year.

“We are still in the process of finalizing everything and will be reopening,” the owners posted on Facebook.

They are looking for another location in the Ocean Springs area, they said.

Known for its sushi rolls and its hospitality, the restaurant at 803 Bienville Blvd., just west of Washington Avenue, closed on Dec. 31.

“The decision of relocating did not come lightly, and it is one that has weighed heavy on our hearts,” the owners said. They were doing what is right for the family, they said.

While Thuan Pham ran the business for the past five years, it had other operators for several years and may have a new one.

A separate Facebook post said that any restaurant or business that opens at the former location is not affiliated with the current owner.

“Please stay tuned for a post in the future about our new location,” they said.

Customers responded to the news by sharing memories and hopes the restaurant will return.

“We’re still following you wherever you go,” one comment said.
