The Toasted Yolk brings its brunch expertise to Biloxi. Here’s what we ordered
The Toasted Yolk has been toasting yolks for over 10 years and are finally on the Mississippi Coast to toast our yolks.
Opened in June, the newest location rests just across the street from MGM Park and is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
In the short time its doors have been open, I have already ventured across Howard Avenue twice for their brunch experience.
The Toasted Yolk provides both a breakfast and lunch menu with an extensively boozy drink menu to get your day going. Seating is indoor and outdoor, with a bar inside and a patio outside built to seat 48 people.
Murals and a brick facade line the walls, giving you an Instagram-worthy backdrop to your meal. Between my two trips, I quickly found my go-to appetizer. The churro donuts with caramel dipping sauce is a must have.
And here’s a secret for you. That coffee you ordered? The one with the kahlua in it? Stir in the caramel sauce, come back here and thank me.
Being lunch time for my trip, I ordered the classic fried chicken sandwich. From my experience at Bacchus on the Beach, I knew it was a good sign when the server smiled at my choice.
The fried chicken patty between the pretzel bun put any quick-stop fried chicken sandwich shop to shame. The stringed fried onions added a flavorful crunch and the pickles were the perfect topper.
It came with a cup of southwestern style sauce that went well with the fries.
My best advice would be to arrive on an empty stomach. It is filling. I finished exactly none of it.
If you haven’t added the Toasted Yolk to your brunch rotation, consider doing so soon.
Like the mural above the bar says, it’s never too early to get toasted.
