Here’s a list of MS Coast restaurants open on Christmas Day and where to get take-out

South Mississippi has choices for those who want to go out for a special Christmas dinner or lavish buffet and those who prefer to eat at home but order ahead from their favorite restaurant.

While most restaurants will be closed on Christmas, restaurants at all 12 Coast casinos will be open along with restaurants at hotels and some of the national chains.

Margaritaville Resort Biloxi will be busy that day with families playing at Escape Arcade & Family Entertainment Center and Doe’s Eat Place, Margaritaville Cafe and Farruggio’s pizza restaurant serving hamburgers to holiday meals.

“The whole resort will be open,” said spokeswoman Tessy Lambert.

Waffle House is always open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and here’s a list of where to get Christmas dinner on the Coast:

Saltgrass Steakhouse U.S. 90, Biloxi, will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offering the full menu including Angus steaks, seafood and homemade desserts like pecan pie bread pudding. A holiday special is a 21 ounce ribeye steak with soup or salad and a side item.

Cora’s at White House Hotel on U.S. 90 in Biloxi will serve brunch from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Christmas Day. In addition to the traditional breakfast fixings will be prime rib and holiday ham carving stations, breads, pastries and peppermint bark cheesecake. Cost is $45 for adults, $30 for children 12 and under.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House at Hard Rock Casino Biloxi is open Christmas with a prix fixe Ruth’s Classics menu, or order the holiday Celebration Feast complete with roast beef tenderloin and sides, available through Dec. 23 with a 48-hour notice. The restaurant is open 1-9 p.m. Christmas Eve and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Christmas Day.

Also open at Hard Rock Casino on Christmas are Hard Rock Cafe from 1 p.m.-midnight, Macau Kitchen from 2 p.m.-2 a.m. and Pie Five from 5-11 p.m..

Sugar Factory at Hard Rock Casino Biloxi is open through the holidays for dinner and drinks. ‘Tis The Season Insane Milkshake and boozy Mistletoe Mule goblet are the specialties through Dec. 31. The restaurant is open all day Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Treasure Bay Casino
  • The Den on the first floor at Treasure Bay will be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. A three course Christmas special features grilled salmon for $50, chargrilled beef tenderloin for $55 and a 12-ounce prime rib for $60
  • Holiday 2 Go at Treasure Bay offers a choice of entrees, sides, vegetables and desserts for 1- to 12 people. Pre-order through Dec. 18.

Silver Slipper Casino in Hancock County is open Christmas to those 21 and older.

  • Blue Bayou Bar & Grill will be serving the brunch menu and a Christmas Day special of crispy half duck with bing cherry and port wine demi-glace or blackened pork loin with apricot-ginger glaze. $48 per person, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Jubilee Buffet will have the raditional holiday menu plus crab and jumbo shrimp all day. 11 a.m.-9 p.m. $49.95

Scarlet Pearl Casino in D’Iberville will showcase its newly redesigned Under the Oak Cafe that will be dazzling diners on Christmas Day with blackened duck breast with crab and crawfish dressing plus eggnog creme brulée. Scarlet’s Steak and Seafood will feature a prix fixe menu with rack of lamb or lobster Thermidor, plus a dark chocolate Buche de Noel cake for dessert.

Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi will have several restaurants open on Christmas Day.

  • Stalla will offer its full menu and an Osso Bucco feature from 4:30-10:30 p.m. Reservations are required
  • Jia will serve its full menu from 4:30-10 p.m. Reservations are required
  • The Buffet will have fresh crab legs, prime rib, teriyaki glazed sirloin, redfish, oysters Rockefeller, pork crown, fried oysters, royal red shrimp and other holiday fare from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Christmas Eve and 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Day. $42.99 for adults and $26.99 for children. Holiday Brunch from 8-10 a.m. on Christmas Eve and 8-9:30 a.m. on Christmas Day is $29.99 for adults and $19.99 for children.
  • Atrium Café will have the regular menu and a Christmas Platter from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Island View Casino in Gulfport will have several restaurants open on Christmas. Diners must be 21 or older.

  • The Buffet will have low country crawfish bisque, roast turkey and cajun fried turkey, Creole seafood gumbo, praline crusted sweet potatoes and other specialties from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for $27.99.
  • C&G Grille will have a Christmas special with turkey or beef tenderloin and chocolate peanut butter cake for dessert, served from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $25 per person.
  • The Diner’s feast includes soup or gumbo with turkey and all the fixings and sweet potato pie, served from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $19.
  • Dockside Deli has crab and corn bisque, a choice of pork or turkey and peach crumble for dessert for $22.
  • Carter Green Steak House will feature beef tenderloin or grilled salmon for dinner from 5-10 p.m. for $45 per person.
  • Beach Blvd. Steamer will be serving dinner from 5 to 10 p.m., with a holiday special of pork tenderloin of turkey medallions for $38.

Those who plan to cook at home or order in can get help with their meal preparations:

Greenhouse Biloxi in downtown Biloxi has appetizers to dessert that can be ordered online for pickup on Dec. 23. Among the dishes they’ll be making for Christmas are spinach and artichoke cheese ball, sausage quiche and biscuits in buttermilk, sweet potato, bacon cheddar and gluten free. Cracker Barrel’s holiday ham dinner is a time saver for those who prefer not to cook.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has The Complete Feast and Dinner Feast and other specialties that feed a few or a crowd, featuring turkey, ham and holiday side, or barbecue for those who prefer.

Honey Baked Ham in Ocean Springs specializes in ham, turkey and heat and serve sides.
