I went to Gautier’s food truck party and tried birria ramen and more. Here’s what I ate.
I went to the old Singing River Mall property for the city of Gautier’s Tasty Thursday food truck event.
Food trucks line up the fourth Thursday of the month and offer a variety of dining options for guests. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The lineup changes every month, so you have to go check out the options for yourself!
Here’s a look at the most recent food truck lineup:
Mann Kettle Corn, Norwood’s Famous Skins, Bryan’s Steamer, Frankie Faye’s, Sugar Beans Mobile Café, Mama Red’s Grill and More, Keeping it Tasty, Meatbawl’s Food Truck, Los Sarapes Tacos Y Mas, Greek Gals Yummies, O the Peanut Man, Mr. Tamales and Havens Down Home Creamery.
I wish I could have tried all of these food trucks, and the options seemed endless: boiled peanuts, ice cream, shrimp tacos, homemade tamales, kettle corn and more.
Trying birria tacos and ramen
My husband and I decided to eat at the Sugar Beans. We tried the birria tacos and birria ramen with a mango lemonade and strawberry lemonade.
The lemonade felt very authentic and had a fresh flavor. You could tell the fruit was freshly squeezed. The birria tacos and ramen were a 10 out of 10.
The quickness of this food truck was what really caught my attention. With only two workers, they effortlessly prepared drinks and cooked tacos, burgers, or other food items right in front of you on a grill while customers stood and waited.
This event was spectacular. I love when I catch it driving down Highway 90. The vendors are always welcoming, there are outside benches where you can eat (and grab quick bite if you’re on your lunch break) and there area positive vibes all around.
