In our most competitive food and dining bracket to date with over 250,000 votes cast, the Blue Bayou inside Silver Slipper in Bay St. Louis was voted best steakhouse on the Mississippi Coast.

The restaurant netted 86,736 of the 157,786 votes cast in the final round.

While nearly every restaurant around has a steak on the menu, a perfect bite is not always an easy find.

After more than 110,000 votes over four rounds, we were left with Prime Cut at Island View Beach Tower and Blue Bayou.

Blue Bayou regularly serves filet mignon, but Wednesdays offer a special treat. Dubbed Prime and Wine night, the meal includes a 14-ounce prime rib.

Our polls are not meant to be scientific, but they are a lot of fun and you are sure to discover some great places to dine if you give these contenders a try. Reservations are highly recommended at the Blue Bayou.

The Sun Herald’s steak bracket featured 24 of the most popular steak sources in Bay St. Louis, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Kiln, Gulfport, Long Beach, Pascagoula and D’Iberville.
