With its unique menu, Coast restaurant’s new location has best waterfront view in South MS

Eat Drink Love has a new location on the water in Ocean Springs. Special to the Sun Herald

One of the coolest restaurants in Ocean Springs has traded shady oak trees for more space and a waterfront view, and the menu is just as unique.

Eat Drink Love moved from Porter Avenue to busy Bienville Boulevard, right at the edge of Davis Bayou and next to the new Marina Cantina.

Their previous location had that old school Ocean Springs vibe and offered lots of outdoor seating. In the new spot, Eat Drink Love has a large patio overlooking a small bayou, as well as a craft cocktail bar and deck on the second floor. The new location may have the best waterfront view on the Coast.

What hasn’t changed about Eat Drink Love, though, is their delicious food.

The restaurant is known for sandwiches, plates and some of the best take-home prepared food around. Perhaps what they are most famous for are their over-the-top daily specials, and that hasn’t change.

Recently I saw these offerings, and wow! The specials included:

  • curry cauliflower and chickpea soup
  • A spicy tuna wrap with cucumber wasabi sauce, jalapeno, picked carrots, cucumber, arugula, avocado and sriracha, served in a warm tortilla
  • A veggie panini with grilled zucchini, hummus, roasted tomatoes, spinach and goat cheese, served inside house-made sourdough.

“Sharing with you beautiful, delicious, thoughtful food” is the motto at Eat Drink Live and I cannot think of a better description.

The full menu has breakfast, small bites, sandwiches and a few salads. It’s concise but covers all the bases.

At breakfast, guests can order biscuits filled with toppings like sausage, applewood bacon or tomato and avocado. There are also five breakfast “sammies” to choose from:

  • Piggy pimento, which is pimento cheese with ham
  • Chicken biscuit
  • Big John, which is sausage, bacon, scrambled egg, tomatoes and pickles on brioche
  • BLAT, a combo of bacon, scrambled egg, avocado, tomato and chipotle aioli
  • Veggie burrito

If you are really hungry, go for the breakfast bowl, loaded with bacon, sausage, pimento cheese and eggs, and served with toast and jam.

There’s also a healthy yogurt bowl with granola, mixed berries, toasted almonds, coconut and a honey drizzle.

The small bites section includes a shrimp scampi dip, turnip and artichoke dip, chicken salad and a charcuterie plate.

The sandwich section of the menu has a ton of favorites, including a good burger, roast beef, ham and brie, chicken salad, pesto turkey wrap, pimento grilled cheese and a handful of salads. On my last visit, we had the pimento and cheese and the ham and brie, both of which were excellent.

Eat Drink Love was one of my favorite places when it was on Porter Avenue, but now, with a new location, brand new restaurant and a spectacular view, it will be a place I will visit even more often.
