Move over, Taco Bell. A favorite Coast restaurant now offers its own Mexican Pizza
Taco Bell broke America’s heart when the fast-food chain removed the iconic Mexican Pizza from their menus in late 2020.
But Coast residents now have a chance to try a new Mexican Pizza at a local favorite.
Pepe’s Bosque, a Mexican restaurant in D’Iberville, now offers a take on the Mexican Pizza, the business announced Monday on its Facebook page.
The pizza, made with tostada shells and topped with cheese and a few fresh tomatoes, costs $7 and is featured on the restaurant’s “secret menu” that is not yet printed, owner Lilian Perez-Gollott said on Facebook.
Pepe’s Bosque captioned the photo with a heart-eyes emoji.
“This take on Mexican Pizza is giving us all the warm feels,” said the post, which has been shared dozens of times.
If you want to feel (and taste) the nostalgia for yourself, diners can order the Pepe’s Mexican Pizza during regular business hours, dine in or to go, Monday to Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Most Coast cities have seen a sizable increase in restaurant and bar foot traffic in 2021, including D’Iberville.
