Get a half-pound hot dog, classic Reuben and more at Biloxi casino’s new snack shack
If you haven’t been to the Beau Rivage Casino and Resort in a while, you just might be delighted with some of the changes you will find.
The holiday decorations are spectacular, and that alone is worth a walk around the main lobby. If you can make it before Christmas, make sure to look up in the atrium, where you will find a life size Santa Clause, sleigh and all the reindeer wheeling about your head. It’s pretty impressive and the kids will love it.
But the Beau is also a great place to pick up a quick snack for takeout too, perfect for the holiday rush. Sounds crazy, right? But the Beau has a new mobile app that makes ordering to-go food fast and easy, and with all the dining options, the possibilities are near endless.
I recently visited the Beau and was impressed with the changes, and really taken with the new format for Snacks, the restaurant next to BetMGM Book Bar and Grill. Snacks is as close to a fast-food place as you will find in a casino, is easy to get to and still maintains the high standards that all of the Beau Rivage’s restaurants are known for.
Snacks is open to the main casino floor, so it isn’t a place for a hushed conversation. But if you want a quick snack or takeout, it is perfect. The menu includes a grab-and-go section with a selection of salads, sandwiches and sides that are pre-made and in a refrigerated case.
The main menu is loaded with America’s most popular sandwiches, and — to my delight — also offers a full half-pound hot dog, an option that is pretty hard to find in South Mississippi. The sandwiches include a classic Reuben, one of my all-time favorite sandwiches. It is made with fresh corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing and pickles on rye bread. Another favorite is the French dip with au jus on a sub roll.
One of the best sellers is the Southwestern sandwich, made with ham or chicken, bacon, shredded lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo and a pickle. It is simply delicious and filling.
There are almost a dozen sandwiches on the menu to choose from and pattering of other good things to eat. Check out the gumbo, chicken noodle soup, nachos and prepared salads.
The Beau is always a great a place to visit, but with the mobile takeout option, it is even better.
