Here’s a list of MS Coast restaurants open on Christmas Day and where to get take-out
Those who want to treat themselves and their families to dinner out on Christmas Day will find more restaurants open this year.
Restaurants at all 12 Coast casinos will be open on Christmas as will hotels that have restaurants. Some of the chain restaurants will be open or offering takeout dinners to pick up on Christmas Eve and then heat and eat on Christmas.
It’s best to call ahead to make sure the restaurant is open and to make reservations at those restaurants that accept them.
Here are some of the options:
Brunch at Cora’s at White House Hotel in Biloxi will be available from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Christmas Day. In addition to the traditional breakfast fixings will be prime rib and holiday ham carving stations, breads, pastries, chocolate mousse cake and peppermint bark cheesecake. Cost is $45 for adults, $30 for children 12 and under.
Saltgrass Steak House in Biloxi will be open from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Christmas Day and offering the full menu for dine-in or delivery. The featured dish is Gulf Coast steak and shrimp for Christmas, along with the regular menu of Angus steaks, seafood and the restaurant’s own desserts.
At the casinos
Treasure Bay Casino in Biloxi. Infinity Buffet will feature ham, roast turkey and smoked brisket from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The price with a players’ club card is $38.69 with crab legs or $17.99 without crab. A special three-course menu at The Den comes with a choice of entree ranging from $25 for bourbon glazed ham or turkey breast to chargrilled beef tenderloin for $40, plus soup or salad and dessert. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Customers at Treasure Bay must be 21 and older.
Hard Rock Casino Biloxi. Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse at Hard Rock will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Half Shell Oyster House carryout menu is available through Christmas Eve and must be placed 24 hours before pickup time. Choose special soups by the quart — seafood gumbo or crawfish corn and crab bisque for $38. They have sides like sweet potato creme Brulee ($48 for 12-15 servings), along with a variety of desserts to go such as cinnamon roll bread pudding and white bananas Foster cheesecake. Sugar Factory is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Christmas Day and offering two seasonal special drinks. ‘Tis The Season Insane Milkshake is a blend of eggnog and vanilla ice cream, served in a white-chocolate dipped mug decorated with Christmas candy. The Mistletoe Mule smoking goblet can be ordered with or without alcohol. Both are available through Dec. 31.
IP Casino Resort in Biloxi has several restaurants open on Christmas. Thirty-Two, the fine dining restaurant at the top of the tower, has a special butternut squash ravioli appetizer, special entrees of veal Osso Bucco and grilled shrimp or Dover sole and for dessert individual lemon tartlets and is open 5-10 p.m.
Harrah’s Gulf Coast in Biloxi. All restaurants inside the casino are open normal operating hours for Christmas. Magnolia House is open from 5-10 p.m. for an elegant dinner. Mix & Mingle is open from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. (bar until 11 p.m.), Starbucks from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. and Steak ‘n Shake is open 24 hours.
Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi is all decked out for the holidays and serving Christmas feasts. Brunch at The Buffet is from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for $26.99. A holiday dinner menu with prime rib, creole spiced turkey and other favorites will be available from 4-10 p.m. Christmas for $34.99.
Terrace Cafe’s Christmas special is prime rib with all the trimmings and a decadent dessert for $55 from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. The regular menu is available along with an express delivery. The cafe is open 24 hours. Both BR Prime and Jia restaurants will be open 5-10:30 p.m. Christmas with the full menu and chef specials.
Scarlet Pearl Casino in D’Iberville will have special Christmas dishes at three restaurants. The special at Under the Oak Cafe is cranberry orange Cornish hen and peppermint bark cheesecake.
At Scarlet’s Steaks & Seafood, Christmas roasted duck, redfish, seafood Newburg in puff pastry are the three special entrees and eggnog Creme Brulee is for dessert. Spaghetti is on the menu at Ami Pizza for a non-traditional holiday meal.
Palace Casino Resort in Biloxi will put out favorite holiday dishes and prime rib on the buffet for Christmas Day. It’s open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. for $28, or $26 with a players’ club card.
Silver Slipper Casino near Bay St. Louis will have crab and jumbo shrimp on Jubilee Buffet all Christmas Day, along with traditional holiday dishes for $49.95. It’s open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m.
Blue Bayou Bar and Grill is offering a Christmas special of crispy half duck or blackened pork loin with apricot ginger glaze for $42. The restaurant is open 2-8 p.m. and reservations are recommended.
Island View Casino in Gulfport has special Christmas meals for those 21 and over. Crawfish bisque and praline crusted sweet potatoes are among the specials on The Buffet Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $27.99.
Christmas dinner at Carter Green Steak House starts with broiled double oyster Florentine and or salad, plus entree and pumpkin pie for dessert, from 5-10 p.m. for $45. Among the other holiday specials are roast turkey or beef tenderloin Marsala at C&G Grille from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $25 per person. The Diner special is a traditional turkey dinner topped off with sweet potato pie, served from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. for $15 per person.
Order take out
Rib Crib in Ocean Springs is preparing a Family Feast with pulled pork, smoked chicken, a half slab of ribs, and hot links or sausage for Christmas takeout. It also includes four sides, a family side salad, a loaf of Texas Toast, pickles, peppers, onions, sauce and cookies for dessert. The deal is $69.99, feeds 6 and is available only to go through January 2. Call 228-334-5089
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has three options for Christmas takeout. Complete Feast feeds 10 to 12 and includes a choice of ham, smoked turkey, Cajun fried turkey, prime rib, side dishes, rolls and dessert, starting at $115. The Dinner Feast starts at $92 and serves 8 to 10. It comes with a choice of the same entrees, cornbread dressing, gravy, rolls and a dessert. The Holiday Big Yellow Box starts at $125 and feeds up to 12. A la carte options and family sides also are available for takeout.
Cracker Barrel restaurants will be closed on Christmas Day but will be open on Christmas Eve until 2 p.m. Their Holiday Ham Heat & Serve meals can be picked up in advance, or order your favorite dinner off the menu to go.
National restaurants open Christmas
Waffle House always is open on Christmas, but few other national chain restaurants will have Christmas hours. To be sure, it’s best to call ahead.
