These MS Coast restaurants and casinos are open on Thanksgiving Day. Here’s the list

Last year’s COVID-19 pandemic trend of restaurants offering family Thanksgiving dinners for takeout has given way to more people expected to go out to eat this year.

Take-out is still available, along with delivery.

For those who prefer the restaurant experience, South Mississippi has more choices than most places because the restaurants at the 12 Coast casinos are open. Most chain restaurants will be open for Thanksgiving while many locally-owned restaurants will be closed.

Here is the list:

Open for Thanksgiving

Cora’s at the White House Hotel in Biloxi will offer traditional Thanksgiving favorites on the Thanksgiving Day Buffet, such as pumpkin bisque, smoked prime rib, honey balsamic brussel sprouts. Seatings from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adults $45, children 12 and under $20. Reservations are encouraged.

Doe’s Eat Place inside Margaritaville Resort Biloxi will serve the regular menu and a featured plate of salad, 8 oz. sirloin steak, sides and bread pudding with whiskey sauce for $35. Seatings from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Reservations are suggested.

Morton’s the Steakhouse, inside Golden Nugget Casino Biloxi, has a special Thanksgiving dinner of oven roasted turkey roulade with stuffing, winter salad, smoked gouda au gratin potatoes, baked corn souflee and other sides, plus pumpkin cheesecake with sea salt caramel. Select wines are featured to complement the holiday meal.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Company at Golden Nugget Casino Biloxi has a roast turkey or holiday ham dinner complete with pumpkin pie for $25.99, or a combo for $26.99 for those who don’t want to choose just one.

Sugar Factory at Hard Rock Casino Biloxi will be serving the regular menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a special edition Gobble Gobble Milkshake that combines all the favorite Thanksgiving desserts in one. The pumpkin spice ice cream milkshake is decorated with pumpkin marshmallow cream, milk chocolate turkey, Autumn mix sprinkle, salted caramelized pepitas seeds and a slice of pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top, all served in a mug covered with milk chocolate. It’s $21 and is available through Nov. 30.

Harrah’s Gulf Coast restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving, including Starbucks from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mix & Mingle from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and is serving a turkey dinner for $29.99 per person. Steak ‘n Shake open 24 hours. Magnolia House will dress up the holiday with a choice of crab and brie soup or salad and prime rib dinner for $59.99 served from 5 p.m to 10 p.m.

Mignon’s Steak & Seafood at Palace Casino Biloxi will feature a gourmet Thanksgiving dinner from noon-6 p.m., complete with corn and crab bisque or salad, turkey and several sides plus apple-pumpkin dessert for $45 per person. Reserve at opentable.com.

IP Casino’s restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving, with Bayview Café serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and both Tien and the elegant Thirty-two are open from 5-10 p.m.

Island View Casino Resort continues to require that all diners be 21 years old. Special dinners are planned at several restaurants. Dockside Deli will have a soup or salad to dessert Thanksgiving feast for $18 per person. Prime Cut and has turkey or a 14-ounce prime rib dinner on the holiday menu and Carter Green Steakhouse gives a choice of veal Marsala or grilled turkey loin.

Beach Blvd Steamer outside Island View and The Diner, inside the resort, will offer regular menus during normal hours on Thanksgiving Day.

The Den on the ninth floor at Treasure Bay Casino Biloxi will offer a three-course turkey dinner with sides and dessert from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., for $28 per person. Must be over 21.

White Pillars is open from 2-6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and is serving a pre-fixed menu that includes turkey or rabbit main courses, salads, appetizers and shareable sides. Reservations are highly encouraged.

Casino buffets open

Half of the Coast casino buffets have reopened and feature everything from carved turkey to Gulf shrimp and a big choice of pie and other desserts.

These are open on Thanksgiving Day:

Island View — Open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $27.99 per person.

Treasure Bay — Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The price is $38.69 with crab legs or $17.99 without crab, both with players’ card plus tax. Guests must be 21.

Palace Casino — Serving from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with turkey, ham, prime rib, shrimp and other favorites. $28 per person; $26 with players club card.

Chain restaurants open

Many national chain restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving Day, according to their websites and others that track national trends:

Applebee’s — Hours vary. Family bundle to-go meals are available.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Burger King — many locations open with reduced hours

Chili’s

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Thanksgiving is the busiest day of the year. Dine in or order a Thanksgiving heat and serve dinner plus pie.

Denny’s — Expanded menu on Thanksgiving with turkey and sides, plus pumpkin pecan pancakes with pecan pie sauce

Dunkin’

Hardee’s

Hooters

IHOP — has a new holiday celebrations family feast for take-out and deliver and Thanksgiving pancakes like pumpkin spice

KFC

McDonald’s — Many locations will be open.

Panda Express

Popeyes — Cajun style turkey is available to pop in the oven.

Ruby Tuesday

Ruth’s Chris Steak House — You can dine in or take food home.

Starbucks — Most are open.

Subway — Most are open.

Among the national chair restaurants closed on Thanksgiving Day are:

Arby’s, Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, Firehouse Subs, Five Guys Burgers, Little Caesars, Newk’s Eatery, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, Raisin’ Canes, Red Lobster, most Sonic drive-ins, Texas Roadhouse.
