Popular Coast food shack closed for ‘winter’ but reopening before spring begins
Is it really ever winter in South Mississippi, anyway?
Pass Christian residents were reminded of sweet summertime Thursday morning and took to their yards to rejoice when they saw a familiar building being towed down Second Street.
Sea Level, a popular food shack and sno-ball stand, was being moved back home to the Pass Christian Harbor. The business closed for the “winter” season but is reopening on Saturday, Jan. 4, according to a Facebook post.
“It was a slow procession down Second Street with folks coming out of their houses welcoming us back and saying they’re ready for a burger,” a Facebook post said. “2 more days!”
Sea Level overlooks the Mississippi Sound across from Shaggy’s and offers guests outdoor seating overlooking the water.
The eatery is known for their burgers, tacos and Monterrey cheese sauce. They also serve spinach and artichoke dip spring rolls, a recipe from the now-closed Bay City Grill in Bay St. Louis.
The bright blue beach shack will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and will extend their hours later in the year as the weather warms up.
