This family-owned Coast spot named best Italian restaurant in Mississippi by MSN
It’s in an unassuming strip mall full of beloved local cuisine near Keesler Air Force Base.
And don’t skip the mozzarella sticks.
For the second year in a row, the Sicilian II was named best Italian restaurant in Mississippi by Microsoft News’ Lifestyle blog.
MSN said the Sicilian II, located in the same shopping center as Mr. Greek and R&C Korean on Pass Road in Biloxi, is a “family-owned dive that turns out delicious pizza.”
The hand-dipped mozzarella sticks are worth the drive alone, according to MSN.
Chef Chris Drake, known by friends as Chef Christo, opened the Sicilian II in 2015. He died a year later, and his son, Chris Drake II, took over the restaurant.
Sun Herald food critic Julian Brunt said Drake II “took a pleasant and comfortable restaurant with great Italian food, jacked up the charm, and made Sicilian II his own.”
