Coast movie theater, wing place, educational facility get C grades from health department

Inspectors at Mississippi Health Department regularly check safety and sanitary conditions at restaurants, including those at schools and attractions.

Between Nov. 27 and Dec. 11, three kitchens in South Mississippi were cited for violations.

The food service at Biloxi Premiere Cinema, in Edgewater Mall at 2588 Beach Blvd., Biloxi, was inspected Nov. 27 for a permit renewal. It was cited for not having a certified manager and for not having hot and cold water available at adequate pressure. Corrected during the inspection were food separated and protected; proper date marking and disposition; toxic substance property identified stored and used. This was the first C for the kitchen that opened in November 2018.

Moss Point SD Career & Technology Center at 4924 Church St. in Moss Point had a scheduled inspection Tuesday. The food service was cited for not having adequate hand-washing facilities supplied and accessible and for not maintaining proper cold-holding temperatures. Corrected during the inspection was the posting of the report from the last permit inspection. This was the first C for the facility.

Inspected Tuesday at 157 Hardy Court Shopping Center on Pass Road in Gulfport, Metro Wing was cited for not having hot and cold water available at adequate pressure. Corrected during the inspection was food contact surface cleaned and sanitized. This was the first C at the restaurant.

Restaurants and other food service establishments are rated A if they pass the Health Department inspection, B if violations are corrected during the inspection and C if the violations are critical.
