If Kiln residents want something fast for dinner that isn’t a sandwich from Subway, they have to travel at least 15 miles to get it. But that’s about to change.
Soon, people will be able to grab Big Ones (or Little Ones) at Ward’s.
The Mississippi-based fast food chain announced on Facebook they’d soon be opening a location in Hancock County.
The company said on Wednesday that they “can’t wait to start serving the great people of the Kiln!!!”
The artist’s rendering Ward’s shared of the future building appears to have outdoor seating and a drive-through option.
It’s not clear where exactly the Ward’s restaurant will be.
The post had been shared more than 500 times by 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Ward’s is the first fast-food restaurant to come to Kiln in a decade and the second in the town. Subway is a popular eatery for residents.
There are a few more dining options in Kiln as well — Mr. Wok serves Chinese food and Dempsey’s is a popular steak and seafood restaurant.
Dolly’s Quick Stop, a gas station with a full-service kitchen, offers daily lunch specials and breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Jourdan River Steamer, an upscale waterfront seafood restaurant, is opening soon. They have been closed since Hurricane Issac made landfall in South Mississippi in 2012.
Lazy Magnolia Brewery has recently opened a kitchen. The brewery serves a selection of bratwurst sausages, flat breads, chewy pretzels and beer floats.
Dockside restaurant on Texas Flat Road also serves burgers, ice bream and shaved ice desserts.
